PawLife stores your pet profiles, feeding logs, health entries, and related data primarily on your device using local storage (SwiftData). If you sign in with Apple ID and enable cloud sync, this data is also stored in Google Firebase Firestore to enable family sharing and cross-device sync. We do not collect your real name, email, or phone number beyond what Apple Sign-In provides.
When you use AI features (Chat, Food Label Scanner, Vet Report Scanner, Insights), your pet's profile data and your query are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. We do not store AI conversation history on our servers. Anthropic's data retention policy applies to API requests. No images from the scanner are stored beyond the duration of the API call.
Premium subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and Adapty. We do not process or store payment information. Purchase history is managed by Apple and Adapty's privacy policy applies.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage patterns (screen views, feature usage). This data is aggregated and anonymized. No personally identifiable information is tracked.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is shared only with: (a) Anthropic (for AI features), (b) Google Firebase (for cloud sync, if enabled), (c) Adapty (for subscription management).
You can export all your data as JSON from Settings > Export Data (GDPR compliant). To delete your account and all associated cloud data, go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Local data can be removed by deleting the app.
PawLife is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
